Request for Personal Information

Under the Privacy Act, you have the right to ask for the personal information that Ara Institute of Canterbury Limited holds about you.

How do I request information?

You can request your information via email, letter, phone or in person. The detail we need from you as part of this request is on the following Request for Information.

How long will it take Ara to respond to me?

We need to respond to you within 20 working days. We can, in limited circumstances, extend this timeframe but we will tell you why we are doing this and when we will provide the information.

Can Ara withhold information I request?

We can withhold information from you in limited circumstances, but we have to tell you why.

What if I think my information is incorrect?

If you think the information, we have is wrong, you can ask us to correct it. If we decline to correct the information we will explain why. If we decline to correct information you can ask us to attach a statement of correction (from you) to your records.
